Jean has more than 35 years of experience in the area of customs and has occupied different functions with the French customs authorities, with private companies and in the consultancy world.
He started his career in general customs management within the Ministry of Economics and Finance where he occupied different positions of responsibility.
He then joined the Pechiney industrial group as customs manager for Europe and Africa.
Jean then exercised his expertise in consultancy, first as a founder and manager of a consultancy company in customs, then joining the offices of Landwell & Associés – correspondent law firm of PwC.
He returned to industry, as “worldwide” customs director in the Canadian group Alcan and then as “Principal Advisor – International Trade” for the Europe, Africa, Middle-East, South America regions of the Anglo-Australian mining group Rio Tinto.
Over these years, Jean has developed a wide expertise covering all aspects of company customs management, including indirect taxation aspects (VAT, energy and environmental taxes). He also has experience of customs management in companies in various intercultural contexts.
