Maximiliano G. Knüll

Maximiliano is an attorney-at-law with the Buenos Aires Bar in Argentina. After living in the U.S. in 2008 and 2009 (Sillicon Valley, California), he has returned to Buenos Aires to join LHLF as a partner in the firm’s South American practice.

He has significant experience advising local and foreign businesses dealing with their domestic and international taxation matters.

Maximiliano has played a significant role in the design, planning and implementation of tax-efficient structures and corporate financing techniques; has represented clients in tax litigation before municipal, state and federal jurisdictions; has advised in tax free reorganizations, cross-border and M&A transactions; has negotiated and drafted tax related aspects of corporate agreements; has conducted and been deeply involved in due diligence processes, analyzing tax, legal, accounting and financial aspects of corporate transactions; and has assisted in setting up numerous partnerships, joint ventures and limited liability companies.

Before joining LHLF, he worked for the top-ranked tax department of Marval, O’ Farrell & Mairal, one of the largest and most reputable law firms in South America, based in Argentina. He is a Professor of VAT and Tax Proceedings at the School of Economics of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and member of the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies and of the International Fiscal Association. Maximiliano is the International Regional Representative of Stanford Law School in South America.

Maximiliano graduated as an attorney in the top 2% of his class in the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He holds a Masters in Tax Law from the Universidad Austral, Argentina, and a Masters in Laws (LL.M.) from Stanford University, CA, USA.

Nicolás Rossi Bunge

Nicolás is an attorney-at-law with the Buenos Aires bar in Argentina and a partner in LHLF’s South American practice.

His experience is focused on taxation of financial instruments, structured finance, project finance, real estate transactions, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate taxation issues, both domestic and international. He has extensive experience advising local and foreign businesses in international taxation issues regarding intellectual property, equity and debt financing, real estate projects and non-profit organizations.

Before joining LHLF, he worked with the top-ranked tax department of Marval, O’ Farrell & Mairal, one of the largest and most reputable law firms in South America, based in Argentina. Prior to that he worked with Malumián & Fossati, a boutique firm specialized in Tax Law. He was a member of the Mutual Funds Tax Committee and worked on several projects for the International Financial Corporation.

He holds an Msc in Finance from the Universidad del CEMA and has published articles in leading magazines and newspapers.

Eugenia Petrino

Eugenia is an attorney-at-law with the Buenos Aires Bar in Argentina.

Her experience is focused on litigation, controversies and tax advice regarding national, provincial and municipal taxes. She has represented companies and individuals at every level of tax controversy, including administrative and judicial, specialized and ordinary, provincial and federal courts. She has advised on tax exemptions and benefits plans, tax aspects of investment decisions, tax effects of contracts, tax aspects of business reorganizations and tax-free reorganizations, and estate tax planning. Eugenia has assisted and advised many companies undergoing tax audits by Argentine tax authorities.

Before joining LHLF she worked at the prestigious tax department of Estudio O'Farrell, one of the most renowned firms in Argentina. Prior to that she worked at Peña, Freytes & Associates a firm specialized on tax advisory services. She is currently Coordinating Professor of Criminal and Unlawful Tax Practices with the Master of Tax Law of the Universidad Austral, and member of the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies.

Eugenia graduated as an attorney with the best GPA of her class in the National University of Córdoba. She graduated with honors and was awarded the prices "Henoch Aguiar" and Outstanding Leaver Diploma of the School of Law and Social Studies, National University of Córdoba. She holds a Master in Tax Law from the Universidad Austral.

Eugenia is fluent in Spanish and English.
